Creeks & Ponds: SIMC

Yep, you guessed it, we had another GREAT weekend.
One of the highlights was a walk out in the woods, and down the creek with Byron and the girls.

We looked for shark’s teeth, but our shovel broke so we couldn’t dig far enough to find any.  I did, however, find some cool glass in the creek, and we had fun, so we were happy.

We also had a delicious dinner featuring bacon-wrapped venison.  It was fantastic.

On Sunday, after church and lunch with my Mother-in-Law,  we met my niece and her little family at a duck pond by a local hospital.  It was my great-nieces’ first time there.  Baby Alexis was not terribly impressed…..

But Hayleigh had a BLAST.  I was worried that she would be scared of the ducks; they are not vicious but they can be a little aggressive.  But she had no fear.  She ran right through them and ALMOST right into the pond!

She learned quickly to tear off a piece of bread and toss it to the ducks.  She also enjoyed eating some of the bread herself!

It was a beautiful day and definitely a fun way to spend it.

  1. Love all the pictures. It’s fun to find glass and such on walks, isn’t it? 🙂 We brought our son to the park not long ago. The ducks were great, but the geese – they were scary – even to the adults! My Mom actually dropped an entire loaf of bread for the geese to eat because she was afraid of them!
