10 Things of Thankful ~ Five Senses, Fall, Etc……

I am WAY past due for a Ten Things of Thankful post!

I saw this floating around blog land several weeks ago and I’m using it for the first half of my 10 Things:

Five Senses Thankful

See: signs of fall!  pumpkin patches, Halloween decorations, etc.

Taste: candy corn and pumpkin seeds.

Touch: the soft, fuzzy fleece blanket my hubby just bought me.  It’s pink & camo.  I love it.

Smell: The clean laundry and anything cucumber/melon scented.  And the smell of a bonfire, oh, how I love that!

Hear: The peace and quiet of home vs. the chaotic noise of work.

Five More Things

Thankful that I live in Florida.  I hate cold weather, and although it gets plenty cold here at times, it’s much better than dealing with snow and ice and stuff like that.  I am a wimp!

My Kindle app.  I love to read and am constantly reading books on my Kindle app on my iPhone.  It is one of my favorite things ever!

This is a big one – I’m thankful that my husband quit smoking in January.  I am so proud of him and thankful that he did it for his health!  (plus I just hate smoking, it’s so stinky and icky and I am so glad it’s no longer a part of our lives!)

I’m thankful for kids that are able to drive, because they can make Krispy Kreme runs.  Yummmm.

I am thankful for Pizza Hut, because although I love to cook, sometimes I just don’t feel like it!

What are you thankful for?

  1. So many things to be thankful for. I feel like you do about Southern California, I lived in Illinois for 38 years and had enough of the snow! Even though we have nice weather here we do get cold too but my husband and I laugh because we will say “it’s so cold outside” yet in Minnesota it would be a nice day!!!

  2. Ah, so happy to hear that your husband was successful at quitting smoking. It’s a huge achievement. Also a bit jealous – mine’s tried a few times with no luck. Hopefully someday.

As for not living in snow – that too would be nice. I’m in Ottawa, Canada – so beautiful summers, but snow and ice for winter. Ugh. Never been a fan.

  3. I’m SO happy and proud of Hunter for going to long without smoking. Congratulations to him! It’s no easy task, but he’s so much better for it.

It’s FINALLY starting to cool off around here, thank God. It was in the 40 last night! Woohoo! I had my bedroom windows WIDE open, and a big, fluffy blanket pulled up to my neck. My favorite way to sleep. =)

  4. I’ll take a meat lovers, large with extra sauce, and my wife wants a supreme, large with special sauce. Oh, and make sure they’re the $10 specials. 30 minutes? Sounds great! Ooops, wrong website! lol Yep, Pizza Hut is a favorite here, but with the original crust as their thin and crispy tastes like wax paper. I wish I’d have thought of the five senses for the first 5 items of my list. Would’ve made things much simpler. Alas, I’m still a smoker, although, like you, my wife wants me to stop. Maybe one day! Naaaawwwwww! 🙂 Good post!

  5. Great list, Cyndy! Anything that starts with fall and pumpkin patches HAS to be great! I also love the smell of a fire, but I like to smell leaves burning more than a bonfire. I hate really cold weather, too, so it’s a good thing that, considering I’m in the armpit of the Ozarks, our winters aren’t really too bad. A week of each winter month might have some nasty cold, but otherwise it’s pretty bearable. My driver is off to college, and I have a year and a half before the youngest can drive, but, alas, no Krispy Kreme anyway, so lucky for you! So glad you joined us at TToT this week! Don’t wait so long to come back!

  6. I knew you’d get a bonfire in here somewhere. 🙂 I was thinking of you when we had ours on Friday.
Congrats to your husband for kicking the smoking habit. That is not easy to do, for sure, but what a much better life without it!
I still have a while before I have a kid old enough to drive, but I’m grateful they are old enough to stay home alone, so I can drive in peace. 🙂
